Recognized as one of the leading companies in the Chicagoland area, B. Gunther & company is a manufacturer and distributor of all types of wonderfully designed awards, promotional products and interior signage.

“Recognition is a fundamental human need that everyone needs to survive and prosper,” says Michael Brommer. “I learned early on that there was more to motivating and inspiring people than just money and reward trips.”

“Upon entering any corporate reception area or an individual’s office, the first thing most of us see are the awards and recognition gifts that they have earned or received,” says Michael.

B. Gunther & Company works with its clients to design an individual award item or an entire recognition program.

“We view the awards and recognition products that we create as a legacy that is meant to live on and be a reminder of a job well done for years to come,” says Michael.

Whether it is employees, customers, vendors or just one very special item that must convey a corporate culture or vision, B. Gunther & Company works with its clients to find the correct product to carry the message – or it will custom-make it.

The company uses many types of materials to create its awards – various woods, metals, crystal, stone, marble and acrylics – offering a wide range of award styles and price levels. The company provides engraving, sand carving and lasering and does many other types of personalization and fabrication in its production department, where three full-time artisans are ready to work with your logos and message to create a truly unique award or business gift.

B. Gunther has been creating awards for 26 years. For the manufacturing processes that are not done “in house,” the owners have forged partnerships with other vendors “who must share our passion for customer service and quality products,” according to president Jeanne Brommer.

“We also stock many products for those last-minute presentations and quick turnarounds and our ability to personalize them on site has been a lifesaver for many of our clients.” Jeanne says.

Few people realize that B. Gunther & Company has created and installed many of the donor walls in various hospitals, churches, nursing homes and other organizations.

“One of the most rewarding and satisfying parts of our business is working with these organizations. We have the opportunity to design an interesting wall which not only recognizes their existing donors but also helps to get others excited about that organization reaching their goals for growth and special projects,” said Jeanne.

Business gifts and promotional products are another focus for the company. There is a wide range of products to choose from, ranging from a simple imprinted balloon to a leather portfolio or high-end wearables. Many clients call B. Gunther when introducing new product or service, rolling out a new company vision or planning a company sales meeting, golf outing or other corporate event.

“A client may tell us they need an imprinted pen,” Jeanne says. “We are at our best when after consulting with a client they have shared their message or goal with us and given us a budget. It is then that we go to work and come up with a pen with a unique design or imprint or maybe we suggest another product that may be a better fit for the recipient or would distinguish their message from the rest.”

The company likes to suggest and use products that are useful and relevant to a client’s business. For instance, a software client recently purchased USB memory sticks imprinted with its message while a marine insurance company ordered beach towels and boat bags.

“Unrelated to the recognition and award business but a very important part of our business is our interior architectural signage,” says Michael.

The same equipment B. Gunther uses to create and personalize awards and other products is also used to make signage.

From individual nameplates, room numbers, directional signage to large dimensional logos in lobby entranceways, B. Gunther puts the same creative energy and detail into making signage that is does into producing its other recognition products.

Most of the company’s new clients come from referrals and the staff feels very proud that its client base includes very large companies as well as many small companies and individuals.

The Brommers are passionate about what they do and attribute their success to God and their employees.
